Bigger Summer Movies in Theaters
Summer is perfect for heading to the movie theaters and catching a big time blockbuster. Studios are putting more money than ever into movie budgets, which means we’re in for some action packed flicks hitting the screen this summer.
Here’s a look at some of the bigger summer movies in the theaters.
Nearly 20 years after the original, the monster hit about a dinosaur theme park returns with Jurassic World. Jurassic Park was one of the hottest movies of the 90s, and it spawned two sequels, an amusement park ride, and tons of cult followers. Now, Chris Pratt and a host of other stars are ready to boot this franchise back into the limelight with Jurassic World.
Jason Statham is known for his more gritty roles, which is why it should be hilarious watching him in Spy this summer. Alongside Melissa McCarthy, the two play a duo of agents looking to save the world. This hilarious ensemble is sure to make for a funny film throughout, and we’ve already seen great reviews from critics.
He may not be Iron Man or Captain America, but this summer is going to be all about Paul Rudd starring as Ant-Man. A doctor who can grow to the size of a skyscraper or shrink to the size of an ant, Ant-Man harnesses his power to fight evil and save the day. The film was also produced by the same team that brought you Guardians of the Galaxy, so they know how to bring you a hard hitting action flick full of super heroes. If you haven’t heard of Ant-Man before, this summer is the time to find a new favorite superhero.
Insidious: Chapter 3
Insidious has been scaring the pants off viewers for the last few years and the third installment will release this summer. This summer, Insidious: Chapter 3 will follow a young girl who is possessed. In true Insidious fashion, this one is sure to full of scary moments that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
It’ll be a busy summer for Mark Wahlberg. In June, it’ll be his production of Entourage, and then he’ll be starring in Ted 2 in July. This is the sequel to the hilarious hit Ted, as the funny teddy bear tries to prove he can be married. Whether you saw the original Ted or not, you are going to get a kick out of Ted 2.
It’s a summer for reboots, as Terminator will also try and get its franchise up and going again. What most people are really looking forward to is the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is expected to play a sizable role in the film. This should be another great film and we are hoping it will make up for the time in-between releases.
